    Hey Guys

I have a 450W OCZ PSU and I'm wondering if it'll be enough to run a 8800GTS in my current PC.
I currently have a p655-DS3P booard with an E6600, 2GB's memory, 1 x DVD drive and 2 x HDD's so nothing hectic going on in the case.

    My Current PSU

    The card I'll probably get.

According to Komplett you need a 400W PSU but I just wanted to see if people here agree before I go and buy it.
    Any comments?

Yeah, I reckon its touch an go alright
The PSU is a good one though and the OCZ site says it does a constant 450 and 550 under peak load so maybe I'd be alright.
Hopefully someone hear will be able to tell me if I'm being mad.
Can't really afford a PSU to go with the card.

I think I read somewhere the bare minimum recommended by manufacturers is 400W for a GTS and 450W for a GTX, both in single card configs.

Having said that, the card you pointed out is an overclocked GTS, so I dunno, you may be pushing it. What else is chuggin' esb juice in your system?

Oooh, great idea! Why not drop the overpriced card on komplett, the vanilla GTS can be picked up for €245 excl. delivery on hardwareversand.de

    here, from guru3d.com:

A single GeForce 8800 GTS requires you to have a 450 Watt power supply unit at minimum if you use it in a high-end system. That power supply needs to have (in total) at least 26 Amps available on the 12 volts rails.

Yeah I looked at hardwareversand.de but I would only save 50 yoyo after delivery and I would have to wait a long time for it.
I'm also not one for spending too much time OC'ing etc so a pre-OC'd card appeals to me.

I know it may seem mad but I'd rather spend the extra 50 and have it on Wednesday and pre-OC'd.

Use this calculator & it will give you a very good idea of what your power requirements will be.

    Thanks man.
    Excellent tool.
I don't have much in my PC, no additional cards, no add on devices or anything so according to that I'm looking at about 325W with the new card so I should be fine.

I'm going to go ahead and buy the card now and sure I suppose if I have power issues I can always beg the missus for a little more money :D
