After taking a break for 6 years Bond returned in the shape of Pierce Brosnan, and actor who would go on to define Bond in the 90s and beyond. Starting off with Goldeneye this was Bond for a new generation, sleek, stylish, relying on his wits but still offering the odd pun or two. Goldeneye sets the tone for the Brosnan years with its tale of double crosses and space based nuclear weapons, then onto Tomorrow Never Dies, which sees a media mogul determined to control the world, by any means necessary. The World Is Not Enough sees Bond facing off against an enemy who cannot feel any pain, while also having to protect an important oil heiress, and the Brosnan years come to an end with the gritty Die Another Day, where Bond finds himself mixed up with shady Korean spies and a business man who's once again determined to wreak havoc across the world.
