Thinking of bringing one over in the near future. They look a good deal. About 20k with VRT for a 01 model with low enough miles. Lot of speed/luxury for your cash there. Anybody own one or have any thoughts negative or otherwise on them?

Looked into bringing one in last year (02) but they wanted 7,900 on the VRT front which made it almost exactly the same price as one here and therefore not really worth the effort.

Have a look on the TT Forum, there are always some cars for sale and you will get some helpful advice from the members.

Have you driven one? The main reason I ask is that they're quite cramped inside, to the point where I wouldn't take one as a rental. It's not that there actually isn't enough room, more that they feel claustrophobic to me.

when you can get a 01 225bhp model here for about 19k.... why go to the uk?

Most TT buyers have absolutely no use for a extra 45bhp.;)

I have a 225 and its worth the extra. But then again, as a TT driver, wtf do I know.

Not cramped at all btw - I'm 6ft4. If I were not so tall, I would have got a Honda S2000. Mad car. Great fun.

Makes it easier to cut peoples hair though, I'd imagine.

    lol.

    Good ones.

I intend selling it in a month or two and my next car will be beyond reproach.

I actually think the new TT is much better looking and less 'toy' carish.
