Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I have naturally long curly hair, and straighten it about once a week.
It straightens very easily, but when i go out to clubs or even out the door it frizzes up =/
Even when i leave it curly it frizzes up.
Anyone know any products that actually work or anything i could do to help prevent this?

What products (if any) do you use at the moment? I have very thick hair that would be prone to frizziness but as long as I use a strong product it's ok. At the moment I'm using Umberto Gianni's Sleek and Chic Shine Spray and find that to be very good for reducing frizz and keeping my hair straight and shiny for ages. I used to use FrizzEase Wind-Down Cream, which was also really good.

Also it's worth using a really good conditioner when you wash your hair, to help keep it manageable.

Do any of those products make your hair greasy btw?

You only need a couple of sprays of the Umberto Gianni stuff or else it will make your hair greasy, especially at the roots. It's very strong stuff. I don't think the Frizz-Eaze stuff ever made my hair greasy, but like I said, my hair is very thick, so I guess it can depend :)

I wash my hair with Sunsilk for curls (green bottle) brush it while it's wet, and then when it's still damp I use Frizz ease and another product I can't remember the name of, does the job for me !

I got my hair cut in a salon in New York last year that specialised in cutting curly hair.
They gave me great advice that has really worked for my shoulder length naturally curly hair, which also has a tendency to frizz.

    - Don't wash your hair with shampoo, shampoo's contain sodium laurel sulphate which is really bad for you in general and causes frizziness.
So try to find a shampoo that doesn't have this ingredient.
I don't know of any brands that you can get in Ireland coz I get my sister to bring the one I use home from the states for me.

    - Don't dry your hair with a towel, The textured surface of the towel causes hair to frizz, I use an old t shirt and just gently squeeze your hair, don't rub it. and touch your hair as little as possible when its drying as over handling can also cause frizziness.

    - They also said that products that contain silcone like 'frizz ease' smother hair and are bad for the hair in the long run. Although I still use a bit of frizz ease when I'm going out coz sometimes the humidity in pubs and clubs can turn my hair into a birds nest.

I have been followiing this advice for almost a year and my hair is definitely less frizzy.

I use Trevor Sorbie curl cream which I find good for my hair, its about €8 I think, It works fine for me.

It takes time to find a product thats right for you, its a pain in the ar*e
as it seems no two people have the same type of curly hair.

    good luck
