Tell-tale signs of infected piercing

Well what are they? I thought it might be helpful for people to know these when they aren't sure if their piercing is infected (like me!) so if people could give the main signs, that'd be good

usually it gets red around the piercing and oozes a lot,well thats what happens me lol
