Zanussi Washer Dryer

Just bought a Zanussu Washer Dryer ZWD1472W.
Firstly, there seems to be an on purpoe opening at the underneath the machine, on the base. Isn't this dangerous?

Secondly, seems very finicky, with extremely long programmes. It's a pain to say, just spin something etc... and it seems to decide what you can and cannot do. In other words, if you class something as synthetic and then want to wash at 50 degrees, it switches it back to 40.

    Anyone else used this model/machine?

    Thanks

There was a Zanussi Dishwasher advert in the weekend papers warning people to disconnect a particular model immediately as it was faulty. I can't remember what model it was, perhaps contact the shop you bought it in or http://www.zanussi-electrolux.co.uk/node67.aspx.

The dishwasher you mention must be of a particular model, and within a selected range of serial numbers.

OP, could you elaborate on "Firstly, there seems to be an on purpoe opening at the underneath the machine, on the base. Isn't this dangerous?" If you're referring to the gaping hole on the underside of the machine, most machines have that ( I think Hoover Candy have a plastic sheet that you're supposed to screw on prior to installation).

With regards to long programmes, how long roughly? Most new machines now would take around 1.5 to 2 hours for a standard 40 wash. Some even longer. Vast majority of machines now are also cold-fill only, and use less water than before.
