Yeah, I hardly ever heard the Saturday Show but he's painful in the evenings.

As you said, he tries way too hard to be funny and he plays that Every Car You Chase remix as if he's the only person in the country with Limewire/the internet. His show's been the new way to start your day for several months now :rolleyes: and how many more times do we need to be told that the Westmeath "Weekender" is published on a Tuesday

They're clearly trying to be like BBC Radio 1:
Ruth Scott Joe Whiley
Colm & Jim Chris Moyles
Will Leahy Scott Mills

What was wrong with DJs doing 3 or 4 links an hour, news on the hour and decent music?

Don't really get what you mean by the Westmeath Weekender comment ... Agree with "the new way to start your day" being a bit out of date!!

However, Everything else I completely disagree with... Really think Will Leahy is the best thing to hit national radio in a long time (I know he was years on The Saturday Show, I'm referring to his new show) He sounds fresh, energetic and interested. He is naturally funny and doesn't put it on.

Regarding the music, I'm sure for the most part it is out of his hands, but disagree that he plays the same stuff all the time, in fact I think the music on the show varies from day to day.

Putting him on every day is the best decision John Clarke (and Will) made for a long time.

Yeah he's a bit of a pain. Tthe new way to start your day is becoming very irritating. But it is WAAAAAAY better that Ruth......she is such a pain in the ass. She so boring and dim she makes stuff up, cant believe anything she says!

jo whiley is the coolest chick( and shes not that young) on radio
ruth scott is the naffest ( shes too much of a heifer to be called a chick) dj ever to be heard on irish radio, her relentless chirpiness is irritating beyond belief
having said that shes still a million times better than the excruciatingly annoying jenny houston

But I'd say RTÉ thought she was - this is the broadcaster that put Marty Whelan (WHY???!!!) on the breakfast show of a station aimed at 15-34s....

i think hes a bit cocky too...the way he says every other radio station is talking right now...bla bla bla... ob viously aimed at today fm because not EVERY radio station is talkin rite than...duh will!

Eh, RTÉ Radio 1 has its news programmes, Raidio na Gaeltachta has some talk shows and Newstalk has George Hook. It's aimed at EVERY national radio station (with the possible exception of Lyric, which usually has a different audience to 2FM).

During the rare occasions I get to listen to the radio in the evenings, I prefer to listen to Will Leahy's show than a talk show. His mix of music is good.

I don't think he is.. I listened to the Saturday show and it was funnier than his weekday show but his weekday show is still good imo
