Netopia V Draytek router and Eircom BB

    Does anyone use a Draytek 2600 series ADSL router with Eircom broadband?

    The Draytek router loses sync alot while the provided Netopia DSL-modem syncs in a matter of seconds and stays up.

    Have tried draytek at different location and it works perfectly.Have got onto Eircom but will not give support as the netopia (which they provided) works. I feel that the signal in the line is weak. Any ideas?

    I need the draytek for VPN

    1. print your line stats till we see what they are, a downgrade by 1mbit to your package may fix the problem ( netopia > expert mode > troubleshooting > dsl will show them)
    2. the netopia is not the worst router out there , eircom may actually use them becuase they hold synch better
    3. you may have to pass through the vpn and do it in software on your pc , not 'on' the router

    Thanks for your help. Did a firmware upgrade and it sorted the problem
