Strange Surveillance Camera ??? Near Tower Hotel

I was Passing the tower Hotel Today and one of the lads pointed out to me that there is a camera in the building on the 3rd floor as u go around the corner at the traffic lights next to The Tower Hotel In the City , He said this Camera was used in the Meg Walsh Case to determine the direction of the car and who was in it ?? Take a look when u get a chance it is the buliling on the corner across from the end of the Tower Hotel in the Top Window looking across the road in the direction of the Bowery Bar and Reginalds Tower , You can clearly see it popping out the window ... Just wondering what this surveillance cameras purpose is and would it not be a bit more useful in the Area where all the NiteClubs are where fights and vandalism occur each night ..????

thats a fairly powerful camera ....i heard it was installed by the gardai a good while ago

I think it was set up for the Tall Ships, a second one was on The Granary looking down the quay and over the river.
