Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi All,

I want to get the nokia 5200 on vodafone for 99 euro

i have a Sony Erick k610 on three.

is it possible to unlock this phone and use a different network sim in it (i remember the guy in the three shop saying they use different sim cards)

if its not possible for someone to unlock the phone can someone change to three and keep their same number?

also if i get the vodafone 5200 will I be able to get a three sim to work in it or does it mean ill have to change to voda 02 or meteor

is it possible to unlock the 5200?

    thanks
    luke

5200 can only be unlocked by network at the moment although there will possibly be solutions arriving soon, but will be quite expensive. If getting a code from the networks, remember that generally they want you to have spent over 130 euros(ish) on the sim card on that account before they will give the unlock code unless its on bill where they should give it out instantly.

k610 can be unlocked but only with unlocking hardware, so you will need to bring it to somebody who can do it, or as above, if the spend is right, or if its on bill etc etc

except for 3 who won't give it out under any circumstances

    Yeah! Exactly!!!
Thats why I put in "should" give it out instantly, but knowing 3, thats never a simple issue!!!
@ John_Player... Read around here on the forums and you will see the hassle that customers have with 3 when it comes to getting their unlock codes!

no spaces. Just key it into your phone.

Press the * key a few times to get the different letters.

I think this only works for Vodafone.

DOubt this will work, as each unlock code is specific to the serial number of the phone. There is a really good website that will give out free unlocking codes(at this stage none of my friends phones are locked to a network;) ) its http://www.gsmliberty.net/shop/nokia_unlock.php
Just to warn everyone that if you enter a wrong code 5 times then your phone will be locked to the network permanently (unless you bring it to a shop)
To get you iemi number type *#06#
