    Hi

I just impoted a campervan from Germany :)

    Thankfully everything went really well.

I am now the proud owner of my first ever camper van

    my question is....

have a bought the only one of these on the planet?

    it's a 1994 Rapido la randonneur (sic)

it's basically a VW transporter 2.4 ltr diesel with a small hotel room on the back :)

I am really happy with it, it drives like a dream and its in immaculate condition but I can't find any mention of it anywhere on the net!

does anyone own one? has anyone ever even seen one?

i am bursting with questions about it, but don't know where to turn...

i emailed Rapido but got no respones (as I was warned I wouldn't)
so basically if anyone has any info (links/owners clubs etc) I would be a very happy camper

    Thanks

I went to Germany two months ago to buy one...when I got there it was sold. I was seriously disappointed as it was a beauty. I have seen several since and all have been really nice. Ended up with a Knaus and very happy with it.

That looks really cool, Rolex. One thing I've always wondered about the bigger camper vans is, do they have that 100kph limit on them or are they as manoeuvreable as an ordinary van?

Rapido Randonneurs are common enough, especially in France.

That they made one on a VW chassis is news to me though.

    Pretty good make, Rapido.

Good luck, and lots of fun with it !

You'll have to excuse my ignorance but I bought this van with no experience but have found it to be very easy to handle. It has the 2.9 turbo diesel engine and it is an absolute rocket when you need it to move. It is not restricted as I drove it back from Germany and went over the 100kph most of the way. I love it, its just what I wanted.

As you've already asked Rapido and had no luck ...no, not really :o

Shouldn't be too much trickery in it ...just ask, we'll try and help.

When you get those batteries ...take a few detail pics of all things new to you and keep them in a file on your pc (you know ...all the different gauges, switches, levers and the like) ...that way you can attach the appropriate pic when asking.
