    anybody notice all the work going on at the old great southern? are they gutting the place or is it closing, have friends coming down and meant to be staying there for race week! dont think they'll want to fork out alot of money to stay on a building site!:mad:

    I presume they are just sorting it out before Race week. NO Hotel would be stupid enough to close for race week.
    CP's is also closing down for two weeks and they're going to Gut the place before the races.

    Bit of useless info for ya, googled a bit there and found out that eyre square used to be called meyrick square, guess that's where the name came from...anyway didnt they spend a skip-load of money on it a few years ago, so why bother?
