Another After Hours Classic

I know After Hours isn't usually the pinnacle of sense, dignity etc. etc., and goodness knows I wouldn't expect it to be, but I was pretty offended with this post and the few that followed it, which basically propose that anally raping a woman is a good way to show her you're not happy with something she's done.

I reported the post and nothing was said, the thread remained open and the user in question was not warned/banned etc. It seems ironic that others are banned for much less in general.

I've thought it over since then, and really do feel it's worth raising a complaint about. Those kinds of comments are palinly misogynistic (woman-hating) and make me sick to my stomach. Why is it being tolerated?

    Thanks for reading.

I see nothing about rape there.

    +1

As I read it, it seems like the poster in question was just saying that the woman needed to get laid, albeit in a very blunt manner.

I concur. That's how it read to me when I first saw it, and that's how it reads now.

I remember my Mum having a freak attack years ago about Nirvana's "Rape Me", because she somehow made a connection between that song and "the belief that some women were asking for it".

Depending on your own sensitivities, you may just be reading into it and seeing something that's just not there.

Well, whatever your (plural) interpretation of it, I've tied it up.

    DeV.

Do you mean you've locked it DeVore? If yes: thanks. As I type it is still open though.

Plus, not that it makes any difference, I strongly disagree with the above posters. Even if all the poster had said was, "she needs a good shag" (which he clearly did not) it would still have been derogatory. Nobody would say the same about a man in pretty much any similar context. And it was aggressive. And she's supposed to be forced to watch herself enjoying this lay day after day?

    Right.

Of course people would say that about a man. The amount of times I've heard the old "You need to get laid, mate" between lads when one is seen to be obsessing about something.

To say that "Nobody would say the same about a man" is living in la-la land.
And she's supposed to be forced to watch herself enjoying this lay day after day?

WTF? What the hell are you talking about there? Where does that comes from? Because there wasn't anything in the post about the woman being forced to watch it day after day. Are you just inserting your own bull**** now after the fact that DeVore has edited the post?

I see nothing wrong in the post?
He basically says 'what kind of woman would sue because she saw porn at work. Also, that if it were a woman with a man on her screen that would never happen'. Unless something has been edited?

No Ken I'm not. If you read the posts that followed the original you'd understand what I meant.

Yes, DeVore edited it. It used to say what she needed was a fat hard cock up her ass.

For the record, I would agree that such a woman as discussed by Monkeyfudge etc. is a complete disgrace. That doesn't mean I have to agree with the proposal that she needs a fat hard cock up her ass, does it?

I've actually become more annoyed about this than when I started.

You linked to a single post. Maybe you should've been more clear if your issue was with more than one post?

Reguardless, you can't hold up something that was said by another poster as proof that the original "Needs a dick up her ass" comment was meant as rape.

When people say that phrase, in my experience, it has nothing to do with rape and more to do with a person loosening up.

Which I'd imagine a fat hard c0ck up the ass would be sure to do.

Should I suggest you loosen up, or would you accuse me of wanting to wrench your limbs free of their sockets?

    Ok?
Reguardless, you can't hold up something that was said by another poster as proof that the original "Needs a dick up her ass" comment was meant as rape.

I wasn't offering proof for anything. I politely suggested that the idea of sticking a hard, fat cock up a woman's arse was offensive. I guess what you're saying is that he was suggesting it be done gently. And all in good fun.
When people say that phrase, in my experience, it has nothing to do with rape and more to do with a person loosening up.

Um, I am not suggesting that I don't understand that he meant for her to loosen up. I am suggesting that the way in which he phrased it was misogynistic. Which it clearly was.

If a friend of mine suggested at any point that what I needed was a hard, fat cock up my ass I'd be jus a tad annoyed. Perhaps I'm the only one here whose male friends, dad, brothers and husband don't talk this way? Or do you all wander round day in day out suggesting to uptight women that they need a hard, fat cock up their ass (your mother perhaps) and informing men that they need to get laid (the rather less offensive way of phrasing an equally vulgar sentiment).

I wonder how the chaps here would react if they were told they need a dick up their ass by a friend or workmate.

I'm not sure that the way you phrase 'loosen up' can be misoginistic or misandristic, it is the intent that is so. So I just think the way it was phrased does not suit your palette.

    Allow me to quote myself.

A vague mention of "posts following it" is hardly clear, especially when you highlight and link to a single post as the main problem.
I wasn't offering proof for anything. I politely suggested that the idea of sticking a hard, fat cock up a woman's arse was offensive. I guess what you're saying is that he was suggesting it be done gently. And all in good fun.

Sounded like you were offering proof...

The mention of the "forced to watch herself day after day" didn't come into it untill it was suggested that the comment didn't mean rape. Then you decided to bring that up.
Um, I am not suggesting that I don't understand that he meant for her to loosen up. I am suggesting that the way in which he phrased it was misogynistic. Which it clearly was.

So, your initial complaint was that the comment suggested rape.

Now your complaint is that it was phrased misogynistically?

Talk about looking for things to get uptight about...
If a friend of mine suggested at any point that what I needed was a hard, fat cock up my ass I'd be jus a tad annoyed. That has to be one of the most ridiculous statements I've read from you so far. You DO realise the difference between REAL LIFE and AFTER HOURS?

Karl Hungus you're only upset because I turned you down that time at the beers. Simmer down like a nice feller.

Don't be getting uptight, now. Maybe you need a FHCUTA*. Ya know, to loosen up...

    *Fat hard etc.

    You did?
I don't even remember proposing anything...

Seriously though, you have to realise that what people would say on After Hours (Or a pub for that matter) is completely different to what they would say in every day life, and it's just beyond silly to ask:
Or do you all wander round day in day out suggesting to uptight women that they need a hard, fat cock up their ass (your mother perhaps) and informing men that they need to get laid (the rather less offensive way of phrasing an equally vulgar sentiment)

But I'm hardly upset. I tend not to let silly thing on the internet upset me.
