Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Irish Officials in Europe etc

I don't know wether this should be in the Comedy forum, or here tbh.
Irish referee Alan Kelly will receive the most high-profile appointment of his career when he takes charge of one of next month’s Emirates Cup games involving two of Europe’s top club sides.

The pre-season friendly tournament tames place at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium on July 28th and 29th.

Joining the Gunners in the two-day event will be Italian Serie A champions Inter Milan, French big guns Paris St Germain and Bundesliga side Hamburg SV.

The appointment of the Cork official is the latest recognition for Irish referees as their reputation continues to grow in Europe.

Earlier this month a team of Irish officials, headed by referee Ian Stokes and also including Martin Moloney, Ciaran Delaney and David McKeon, took charge of the Euro 2008 qualifier between Andorra and Israel, while another Cork referee, Anthony Buttimer, was the man in the middle for the European under-21 qualifier between Malta and Romania.

Rhona Daly and her assistants Aisling Looney and Celine McGowan officiated at the Women’s European Championship qualifier between Greece and Iceland and the two assistants then joined up with Hilda McDermott to take charge of the qualifier between Russia and Poland.

My jaysis, I cannot believe these inept, bumbling, incapable, incompetent, unskilled, amateurish, blundering, bungling, floundering, stumbling, unrefined, contemptible, fallacious, implausible, inadequate referees have gotten these type of jobs.
