Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Constant toothache but I can't get appointment for 3 weeks! It's not absolute agony but it's quite sore and woke me a few times last night. I generally try to avoid drugs but when I did resort to 2 paracetemol it didn't even touch the pain! It's going to be a long 3 weeks. Any tips? Medical or otherwise.. I'm turning into a right miserable old cow with this:(

I find disprin extra strength more effective. Also for some minor relief, chew a clove - it does help. Take a bath and try and relax.

    Thank you.

Chewing a clove as we speak.. hadn't thought of that. It's not pleasant but I'll put up with it if it helps! I might try to restrict the drugs to night time but I'll try the disprin.

ask about clove oil in a pharmacy

get thee to a dentist before it gets worse, it's no fun when it hurts so bad you feel like your body is releasing endorphins every so often

    thanks suitseir and Capt'n,

After an agonizing weekend I managed to get to see a dentist on Monday. I'm on a course of antibiotics now so feeling better but it's likely that I'll be facing the dreaded root canal soon

ye poor thing - I feel for you. Happened to me 3 years ago, and it's not nice...

Good thing is, the root canal treatment does not really hurt all that much - I found the pain before the treatment much, much worse! (and the pain you experience when they hand you the bill - almost needed a paramedic for that one...;-))

(and on the subject of pain relief - Tramil does the job for me...)

    Hope all goes well! ;)

There's a bottle of stuff called Soothake, which is loads of alcohol and clove oil which you put onto your tooth with a cotton bud and nicely numbs it for a while. I found it useful for going asleep and other times. About a fiver from some chemists.

Solpadeine always worked best for any toothaches I had.

Tell you dentist you are in pain, all dentists will see emergencies the next day.
