army baracks in portlaoise!P.D.F or R.D.F?

    hi lads!

    I'm just wondering is the army barracks thats right beside the Garda station P.D.F or R.D.F ?also what company is it?what size place is it ?I just saw a bus full of young soldiers in fatigues going away from it.I was thinking that it was R.D.F but I'm not sure!

    Hehe, now I'm usually the first to have a bit of a laugh at some of the anal retentives where opsec is concerned ("Ohh God! You can't give him directions to the cook house!!!"), but this does sound a bit dodgy. Rephrase your question, perhaps, so you sound less like a dodgy abwehr spy? What is the purpose of your question? Just to know, or are you thinking of joining the FCA and would like to know if this is the right barracks? Asking for troops numbers, locations and movements is a bit....;)

    ha sorry mate i re-read it and i get where your coming from!:o

    No the reason i ask is im going to join the reserves soon and if this is an R.D.F company it would be the closest to me! i looked up the 62 infantry battalion website but it doesnt list portlaoise as a place where they have a reserve company!

    I was also going to also ask about whats the story about getting my info in sharpish since i think it takes a few months for it to be processed so i can hurry up and wait!cheers in advance!

    thanks anyway lads i found out it is in fact reserve b company 3 battalion .so it is a reserve company!great!:D

    So ive been looking around irish military online and it says a few months before 17 you can get the paperwork in as it takes a while to process!what information should i bring into the barracks with me?pps number ,birth cert,guardian...anything else?

    now to clarify im only looking for info on what paperwork to be brought in to the barracks and what the protocol for that would be.nothing else!I think its an honest enough question!

    Yeah the usual documents will do ya,Birth Cert, PPS Number and Photo I.D. although the Photo I.D. probably won't be essential.

    If they want anything else from you they'll tell ya.
