Seems to be £10 delivery to EU, so about €125 postage included. Cheaper than Expansys

Strange thing on Expansys now. If you click on the original link to the 770 i.e. http://www.expansys.ie/p.aspx?i=141019&sbadd=141019 , you get a message saying that the product is unavailable. But they give you lots of links to Expansys sites around Europe where it is available, although at a much dearer price than we paid for it i.e. about €170. Anyone know why? Seems like its only ourselves and the UK are not on the list. Anything to do with the mains plug maybe?

I am looking at eBay for alternative to the Nokia GPS unit. The prices are not bad but when you include the shipping fee (mostly from UK) erghhhh looks like a rip off. shipping seem to cost more than the actual item itself.

I picked up one of these.

    http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/12398.htm

Its a Holux unit, branded for Navicore.

Worked out around €60-65 including postage.

    Very small and works well.

^^ Thats actually the site I meant! mobilefun. Watch out on orders over 80 euro (?) as they don't take credit cards, only bank drafts over a certain ammount. Very odd. I have ordered about 3 or 4 times from them and beyond that annoyingly odd payment system they have they are reliable. Just a pain in the neck. This is the one I got before. Its decent. http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/10939.htm
Just make sure its a SiRF III chip.

Did you actualy get this one to work with MeamoMapper on the 770 ?

Works with MaemoMapper alright, but I'm having trouble with the maps - just get a black screen.

Have been using the BT GPS with a Palm Tungsten E2, until I can get the map thing sorted.

check you have the latest latest version and do auto download of the map reprositories

you'll know if you have the latest if it has the auto download feature.

Sorted with the 770 lads. Thanks for the advice.

Just a note on the Navicore BT Receiver I mentioned above....its a HOLUX Slim 240 badged/branded for Navicore, actually says HOLUX on the back, so the the €60-65 delivered is quite cheap.

I got the WSOD and returned to Expansys for Replacement which has now become a Refund - still waiting ...

Ordered replacement from www.mobilefun.co.uk to find out today that the unit is 'Discontinued' and after doing a bank transfer 3 days ago as they won't take Credit Cards ....

Another web site www.mphone.co.uk is getting them in next week but has put up price to £129.25 today from £99 - works out incl delivery £153.93 - which is 226.63 euro ! Expansys orginal price was 140 euro.

Anybody know where I can get the unit on-line for around same price as original Expansys price ?

Only reason I want to get a replacement now is I have a bought a BT GPS unit and had it working great with the 770 and Maemo Mapper - great piece of software.

    If I can't get a replacement cheap enough I will have :

    1) BT GPS receiver HOLUX GPS Slim 236
    2) BT keyboard (iGo)
    3) Leather Case
    4) Spare Battery and Charger

for sale all at a 'cheap' price :):):)
