There's no tactics button, you just take out a striker and replace him with a a midfielder/defender and then the formation changes automatically.

I just checked my account and it looks like I am signed up for 2 boards leagues

One is called
Boards.ie
and the other is called
boards.ie

Not sure how I managed that but the one with the capital 'B' has a lot more joined. Any idea what the difference is and which one is the league most people are using?

Doyle out for Tevez today after he was confirmed a Man U player. My team is taking shape.

I have 3 top class midfielders, 2 top class forwards and 2 top class defenders and the rest of my squad has good enough quality to bring in if needs be.

I'll probably score 20pts in my first week :rolleyes:

The 2 Boards.ie leagues is probably some bug in their system since they've changed/updated the site over the last couple of days.

I definitely only signed up for one this year and I'm in both.

Im in both as well. Sur what harm, at least i know ill be appearing on the first page of the lowercase "b" one (there being only 1 page of members!), while we all know the one with millions of people is the legitimate one.

I think 2 different users had seperate two leagues within days of each other back at the start of July and then this thread got merged or something.

the people in question (myself included) only signed up for one league thought. The other one just appeared a few days ago (i assume the same day as the new look fantasy.premierleague.com page). Id go along with the theory of it putting the people using the same account as last year that made a new team and were together in a league last year back together in the same league again this year. IIRC last years league was boards.ie as well (lower case b). That or a crazy glitch.

I was wondering, can a players value rise in preseason? for example Tevez currently costs just 8.5, but if he were to joined Man U would his value rise? Seeing as he'd surely be ahead of Saha in the pecking order who currently costs 9. Or would they just boost him up quickly after the season starts?

He can't rise in value before the game starts. Once the deadline passes players can go up and down depending on how many people buy/sell them.

but im thinking of going 4-5-1 and having Barry extra in midfield instead of Tevez up front. I will effectively lose a point here tho as the sub id have to bring in for up front would cost 5points while the one id be replacing barry for is 4 so im changing a 8.5 player for a 7.5 player and not making any extra. Or should i just go for Anelka instead of Tevez? Also, i can change Lescott for Dunne saving myself a .5 so i can swap Bentley for Barry then. but who is more worth having Bentley or Barry?

I think you may be looking too deeply into it.

Just think about your best 11 players getting you the maximum possible points, for each week depending on the opposition for each player and if that happens to be a 4-4-1 or 4-5-1 or 4-3-3 then so be it.

So I decided to sell Richardson and bring in Barry which cost me 2m, so I have 5.5m on a defender to buy.

I think Portsmouth have the best defence of the 3 teams, but Dunne is always good for popping up for a goal and Shorey is good for assists

The only issue I have with picking Everton players is the last time they played in Europe (I think '05 season), they had a bad league campaign. Their squad doesn't seem to have grown much either since last season and they are now missing Cahill & Vaughan. They should have gained a bit of experience from that season though and I don't think they'll suffer as much, but they definitely need to get Baines in.

I see they have Jagielka down as a defender. Did he not play in midfield for SU?

As a Villa fan I think Reo-Coker is a bargain, will probably always start and be a totally different player to last season.
Also Ashley Young will be excellent but he's not really a striker so might not rack up the goals you need.
