    Yes, I'm interested SS. Thanks!

worth noting that a high proportion of people will buy tevez as his move to united is inevitable and his price will rise after first week. If you have no money in the bank you may not be able to afford him in subsequent weeks. When do the price rises get added on? Could i buy another player now and transfer into tevez at his current price on sunday evening?
I think price changes occur at the same time as the points are finalised each week.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 309 ✭✭wardie

Price changes happen nightly throughout the week. Generally they rise at the start of the gameweek when people have made an early change and the last day of the gameweek when most the transfer are made.

The price can only go up by .1m each day so they wont suddenly jump up a million.

Here's the Off the Ball code 617583-109893 for anyone's who's interested..

Hmmm.. a few tweaks left to do on my team.. I've got Terry, Drogba, and Tevez in my line up..

Any more word on whether Tevez will make the opening match? Last I heard it was unlikely..

    Hunt
    Milner
    Harper
    Osman
    Carsley
    O'Neill
    Reo-Coker

    Petrov [6.5] ?
Had Masc myself but don't think he'll play enough.
Pray Tevez makes the opening game; my other options will just lose me points on opening day :-/

Ye wondered that too. Ended up removing him and taking Berbatov instead after making some room in midfield to make up the difference in cost.

    Right.

Tevez won't make the first game.

Ho much will he next wee though.

    Yakubu, Viduka or Robbie Keane?

    Opinions?

Keane is 9m, Tevez is currently 8.5m

Will Tevez's price jump to 9m?

I want Tevez in my team, is it worth taking the hit on

I for one am happy with my team and won't be changing it!

I too had to take Tevez out. I don't think his price will change dramatically when he signs for United. I'll lose 4 points though, cause I'll have to make 2 changes to bring him back. Bah. Stupid premier league.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,178 ✭✭✭Irish Wolf

Drogba and Terry out. I'm gonna keep Tevez though.

I do believe I'm finally happy with my team.. although the defense could be a bit wobbly if Sunderland have a bad start..

Im keeping Tevez in my team now though, you can be sure that he will be starting the Manc derby and also all the people who try and buy him for that game next weekend will mean his price will rise a bit, so at such an early stage in the season I think I'll keep my transfer bank intact for a time when I really need it !

After loads of arguing with myself, loss of sleep and buckets of coffee I eventually plumped with this lot!

    1. Robinson (Spurs)
    2. Vidic (Man U)
    3. Baines (Everton)
    4. Carragher (Pool)
    5. Upson (West Ham)
    6. Arteta (Everton)
    7. Mascherano (Pool)
    8. Scholes (Man U)
    9. Lampard (Chelski) captain
    10. Berbatov (Spurs)
    11. Van Persie (Arsenal)
    subs
    12. Niemi (Fulham)
    13. Primus (Pompey)
    14. Lita (Reading)
    15. Noble (West Ham)

I originally had Essien then i dumped him for Gilberto due to African nations cup but then i realized i hate Gilberto and he probably wont rack up as many points so i went for the aul' reliable in Scholes! Well chuffed! :) BUT Baines, Primus and Lita are all f88king injured this weekend! Still, I dont see much need to change, i've won this! :p

Makelele is doubtful so out he went for Marlbranque.

    James
    *
    Carra
    Carvalho
    Dunne
    *
    Richardson
    Arteta
    Petrov
    Marlbranque
    McSheffrey
    *
    Torres
    Berbatov

    *****
    Howard
    Tevez
    Jaidi
    Halford

I'm not going to look at it till after the games tomorrow! Finalised team for gameday1...I hope..

I've taken a leap of faith with Nani...after reading the sky sports pundits considered views I thought why not

Now, I have 8m left....I had got Lennon from Spurs but hes out for a month....soooo I'm torn between the ever reliable Gamst Pederson or Babel from Liverpool or Essien ! Dont really want Essien as hes gone for the africans nations at Xmas....Blackburn have a tough opening 6 games so Im going against Pederson so we're down to Babel....is he a starter

I really can't understand why people are making such a big deal out of this whole African's Nation Cup at Christmas as it's months away. You can just sub any player when the time comes. If you really want a player in I don't see what the problem is.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16,658 ✭✭✭✭Peyton Manning

Sir Alex says Tevez wont play on Sunday, but theres always the chance he could make the bench and get 10 minutes at the end or so. But at the moment, hes pencilled in for a debut against City next weekend. My team is finallised as:

    James
    ---
    Carvalho
    Lescott
    Ferdinand
    Finnan
    ---
    Bentley
    Reo-Coker
    M. Petrov
    Ronaldo
    ---
    Rooney
    Van Persie

I would rather not mention my subs lol :P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,098 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Im thinking the African nations could be a blessing in disguise, all the decent players like Essien and Martins prices will drop in the few weeks they're out with all the transfers out. Could be a few serious bargains to be had!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,391 ✭✭✭One Cold Hand

Is M. Petrov any good? I know nothing about him but a few people seem to have him in their team?

Yes but anybody thats doing well will have gone up in price and might not be able to afford them....but guess thats no big deal as I will be making plenty of changes between now and then :o

He's a quality player. Im a United fan, and its the first time Ive ever been jealous of anybody Man City have signed. Class act at Atletico. In my opinion, he's the best player to leave Atletico for the Premier League this season ;) Only thing is, he is liable to get a couple of red cards a season but should rack up a good few assists. Bojinov is another player who will take the EPL by storm over the coming seasons.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,326 ✭✭✭Zapp Brannigan

Cant see Bojinov being a massive success in the EPL. He was poor in Serie B.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,220 ✭✭✭✭Lex Luthor

I've taken Tevez out for GW1 as he ihas not been confirmed to start tomorrow. Cant see Fergie wanting to start the 1st game with new players. He will introuduce them as the weeks move on. Players only rise by 0.1m every gameweek so Tevez will not jump dramatically.

To be honest I think Rooney is going to be fired up this season and will be the top scorer there

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,617 ✭✭✭✭PHB

Ok, I've thought about this a lot and made a few changes.

    Given
    Neimi

    Neville
    Rozehnal
    Distin
    McShane
    Boyce

    Ronaldo
    Lampard
    Richardson
    Ireland
    Jones

    Rooney
    Ashton
    Van Persie

Moved away from Tevez and Berbatov, as I don't think they'll start enough to be worth it, although this could well come back and bite me in the ass.
I'd much rather have four forward than anything else, it's quite annoying :/

Craig Gordon as the sub keeper anyone? Only 4m. I know Sunderland are likely to concede a fair bit, but worth a punt I reckon

Thanks for the tip. He could be worth a few bonus points if the hype is anything to go by.

I've been going back and forth over the Tevez thing, I have him back in at the moment. The main reason is that I'm worried about fluctuating prices. I know it's been talked about already in this thread, but is it possible that he'll become more expensive without playing?

This is my team at the moment:

    James
    Gordon

    Geremi
    Distin
    Dunne
    C.Davis
    Pearce

    Ronaldo
    Bentley
    Arteta
    Malouda
    Muamba

    Van Persie
    Johnson
    Tevez

Yeah but if he's making saves to beat the band in every game he'll be clocking up as many points as keepers who are keeping lean sheets based on his performance. I'm actually putting him in tomorrow ahead of Friedel :D

Does anybody have the code for the NewsTalk/off the ball League...?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,500 ✭✭✭Fuzzy_Dunlop

My team has changed quite a bit since my last one i posted, now its:

    Howard

    Lescott
    Richards
    Taylor(newcastle)
    Finnan

    Fabregas
    Ronaldo
    Essien
    Arteta

    Tevez
    Van Persie

    Subs:
    Niemi
    Muamba
    McShane
    Stokes

I went for quite a strong midfield all round(which actually, i think would be amazing in real life) The only headache for me now in the final hours is the whole Tevez thing, but he ought only miss one or maybe two games and then he should play a fairly big part, right?

    Dunne
    Vidic
    Dawson

    Richardson

    Rooney

    Subs:
    Gordon
    Igimarson
    Harewood
    Miller

Yup - nothing like a bit of hype.. I've got him in as first choice - relying on his "go-go-gadget-arms" to do the business.. :)

This could be a very bad decision as I've also got McShane and Halford in defense.. here's hoping Spurs are firing on zero cylinders..

Pompey are the team for defenders. They've the best defence outside the top 4.

Pompey have a very hard start to the season though. They play the top four teams in their first six or seven matches.

My team (think I'm the only person playing 5-2-3)

    Cech

    Rio Ferdinand
    Ben Haim
    Finnan
    Evra
    Jagielka

    Lampard
    Ronaldo (C)

Chopra (who hasn't started today feck it)
    McCarthy
Bellamy (banking on him to be my surprise star!)

    Subs
    Gordon
    Teale
    Muamba
    Whitehead

The key to this game is that your cheaper players do well. Everyone will have the top players like Lampard and Ronaldo so I'm hoping the likes of Chopra, Whitehead and Bellamy (players others mightn't have) will pick me up points.
