Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Car showrooms!

What IS it about car showrooms these days?

They're ALL ugly, gaudy, ostentatious piles which appear to be nothing more than an exercise in self-indulgence for the architect and an ego massage for the owners.

I give you Sheridan's, Tom Murphy's, et al in Waterford.

Yet they get planning permission to blight the entrances into our towns and cities with these things!

If they must be such awful examples of glass and steel joined together haphazardly, they should be hidden away on a business park somewhere - they should not be the first thing a traveller sees when entering a town.

    /rant over.

    A.

They beat what was there beforehand - ramdom broken sheds, scrub, empty yards etc. That said the prevailing style is pretty mundane but they are designed to to a job - hold cars in a bright airy box.

they are not a nice sight on the way into the city alright but you are not alone, you should see the state of Bandon in Cork...probably main car dealer HQ for Ireland!

The Cork side of Waterford beats Bandon by a mile with all the main dealers located there!
