    |||||||||||||||||||| Doc Farrell ___Padraig Parkinson |||||||||||||||||||| 18,600

Padraig Parkinson moves all in from the cutoff for 10,000, the player on the button calls, the big blind moves all in over the top, and the button folds. Parkinson says, "I think I've got you on this one," and he shows 9-7 offsuit. The big blind shows JJ, and Parkinson has him, in the sense that he has two unsuited undercards.

    Padraig Parkinson Eliminated

Three of the top four in chips: Gus Hansen, Sorel "Imper1um" Mizzi, and Rain Khan. Imper1um has just been moved to Hansen and Khan's table. That fits anyone's definition of "Sick". Especially the definition likely given by the other six players at that table.

    I would agree with that.

Interesting read, a good player, a douchebag.

I'd enjoy reading his reports more if I wasn't thinking 'this guy seems like a humongous prick'.

I'm going to have to root against him Lloyd. :p

    Daniel Negreanu Exits

Daniel "Kid Poker" Negreanu has been eliminated from this year's Main Event. On a flop of 8s7h6h Daniel bet out 12,000. Ryan Mclean was next to act and he moved all in, for more than what Daniel had. Daniel went into the tank for a long time, working out how much was in the pot and whether he had enough chips to play on if he folded. Eventually he made the call, showing Td8c. Ryan had him in bad shape, he'd flopped top set holding 8h8d. The turn was the Kdleaving Daniel only a nine to make a straight and keep him alive. The river was not a nine, the 4s in fact. And that's the end of Kid Poker's 2007 Main Event.

Oh well, guess he lost his bracelet bet, didn't get any this year did he?

Chris Ferguson all the way so! Always comes across as being a normal, down to earth guy in interviews. Aside from the fact that he's a math whizz!! :D

    from....

    http://www.inside-edge-mag.co.uk/pokerlife/pokerfeatures/678/top_10_proposition_bets.html

Prop-betting Iron Man Huck Seed once wagered good money that he would be able to go an entire year without shaving. He hung in there just fine, until there was an unexpected death in the family and Huck had to shave for the funeral. Ironically, these days he’s often seen sporting the kind of chin-strapping facial hair that’s normally associated with Abraham Lincoln and/or the Amish.

I concur, he is most interesting, bordering on facinating, I really hope a book comes out about him sometime.

If I or anybody here happen to bump into him, make a point of suggesting it. :D

Some prop bets by Ted ....

    Bet Against Mike Svobodny

Had to run a marathon in under six hours on the outdoor heat-radiating, rubber-urethane track at UNLV, at temperatures almost 120 degrees.

Result Won $7,000, but suffered serious heat exhaustion.

    Bet Against Howard & Huck

Bet that Howard Lederer, starting at 310 lbs., wouldn’t weigh less than Huck Seed, initially at 180 lbs., in less than a year.

    Result Won $50,000.

    Bet Against David Oppenheim

Had to bench press 225 lbs. fifty times in 24 hours.

Result Lost $10,000 and permanently injured his right arm.

    Bet Against Mark Weisman

Laid 6 to 1 that Mark Weisman, 43 years old, 5’5” tall, and 230 lbs., couldn’t run a mile in under six minutes, with 18 months to train.

    Result Lost $60,000

    Bet Against John Hennigan

Bet that Huck Seed’s brother Lief couldn’t run the 280 miles from L.A. to Las Vegas, only sleeping twice.

Result Won $10,000 because Lief hurt his Achilles’ tendon after 70 miles.

    I'm impressed by

    Dario Minieri- 2,398,000 in chips.

rise in the tournament, he got off to a good start on his Day 1 and has been around the top for the whole tournament.

For those who don't know he is an annoyingly sucessful internet player, and was the first to claim a nice new porche using the insane amount of frequent player points he had accumulated.

    Who Are *You* Rooting For?

There were 337 players who survived the carnage of Day 3 -- "Money Day." (For a full list of survivors, chip counts, and Day 4 seating assignments, scroll down below.)

Now that the money bubble has burst, many of these players will be satisfied with nothing less than the final table. There is a wide variety of players still alive in this field, and everyone should have someone to root for tomorrow.

There are top tournament pros like Gus Hansen, Humberto Brenes, Chad Brown, Jason Lester, Lee Watkinson, David Levi, Brandon Adams, and Mimi Tran.

There are top online players like Sorel 'Imper1um' Mizzi, Jared 'Waco Kid' Hamby, Darrell 'Gigabet' Dicken, Hevad 'Rain' Khan, Matt 'Mattster24' Sterling, and Peter 'Nordberg' Feldman.

There are top Europeans like Julian Gardner, Thor Hansen, Donnacha O'Dea, and Willie Tann.

There are former world champions Berry Johnston ('86), Huckleberry Seed ('96), Scott Nguyen ('98), Carlos Mortensen ('01), and Robert Varkonyi ('02).

There are 2007 WSOP bracelet winners Bill Edler and Alex Kravchenko.

There are seasoned veterans like Billy Baxter, Hans 'Tuna' Lund, and Mike Laing.

There are even celebrities -- actor Tobey Maguire ("Spider-Man"), musician Sully Erna (lead singer, Godsmack), and television writer/producer Sam Simon (co-creator of "The Simpsons) have already outlasted nearly 95% of the field.

    But wait ... there's more.

There's the blind player, Hal Lubarsky, who uses an assistant to read the cards and whisper them into his ear. He's still in the hunt for the final table.

There's Kenny Tran, who was a surprise at the final table of $50,000 H.O.R.S.E., but has followed it up by becoming the first player to a million chips in the Main Event.

There's the uber-aggressive young Italian, Dario Minieri, who doesn't know the word "slow," and took the chip lead in the last half hour of Day 3. As an online player, he accumulated so many player's bonus points that he used them to buy a new Porsche. He's the big threat heading to Day 4.

The remaining 337 players will play another five levels today, and then play down to the final 27 on Saturday (Day 5). Everyone who survives Saturday will be guaranteed at least $333,490.

Sunday (Day 6), the players will battle for the nine seats at the final table. Everyone who survives Sunday will be guaranteed at least $525,934.

Monday is an off day. Get some sleep.

Tuesday is the big day -- the final table of the 2007 World Series of Poker Main Event. Nine players, one of whom will go down in poker history as the world champion, earning $8.25 million. The final five will become millionaires.

Regardless of whom you're rooting for, you'll want to return to PokerNews.com at 12:00 noon PDT for complete coverage, with chip counts, hand updates, money finishes, photos, and video interviews.

Most interesting to me would be if a former winner won it, or if Pamela Brunson - Doyle Brunsons daughter won it..., or an Irish person (as long as they are a decent skin).

    Next:

The internet big dogs.... though, some of them, seem to come off as complete dickwads to me, I don't like arrogance (and I'm not mixing up confidence with arrogance).

    Next:
The legally blind guy, well, that would be interesting to watch.

    But not
A Celeb I really really wouldn't want one of them to win, that would be incredibly irritating, save for Sam Simon, one of the producers/writers on the simpsons, hehe.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 657 ✭✭✭BuChan

i saw that minieri on an EPT event. a serious megalomaniac, i'm sure he'll be fun to watch in august or whenever the shows will be on. anyone know why there were no televised circuit events this year?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,571 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

They're showing more vegas events this year (including the 50k HORSE over 4 or 5 episodes). They have 55 to choose from, so there's no shortage!
