replace radio

    hi,
    I have a 01 toyota corolla vvti vand i want to get rid of the original tape player and put in a RADIO cd player. Is it hard to wire it up as the radio is worked from the panel above tape player. I have installed radios before but not like this.

    it's easy enough, the top display part is actually the headunit, and the casette player is just an accessory wired off it. You need an adaptor plate to convert the top part to a standard DIN stereo (fitted standard to 97-00 models)baileysautopointCorSIL634.jpg NOte that dash colour changed on VVT-i models so specify a grey part.

    You'll also need a Toyota to ISO adaptor harness (also available from Toyota dealer) The casette unit over the cig lighter can be replaced by a DIN sized storage box, or by a Toyota only double DIN storage box part that has a hinged door and sungleasses holder.
