Guys what odds can I get on the opening date?

We are looking good for Monday, although despite wanting to defy non-believers we will not be opening on Monday. We lost a day on the floor stripping and varnishing and we are not fully confident on having enough time for staff training.

So the day of opening (touch wood) is Wednesday morning. We are tinkering with the idea of Tuesday night - if so we'll put it here first.

By the way we are now looking for help with our music. If you have the time we'd love to get the following info

Desert Island Itunes: You are stuck on a desert Island and magically have the abillity to download 10 tunes to an Ipod you found under a palm tree please name the 10 tunes you download - give us your name (or alias), class and three words to describe yourself and we'll put it on our sound system if we like it. Feel free to comment on the tunes you choose (or not).

It's just a bit of fun - you an Private message us or post it here.

    cheers

Bluedolphin banned indefinitely for I AM SOMEBODY!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,421 ✭✭✭bluedolphin

I didn't say you weren't somebody; clearly you are 'somebody'!

I said you are 'a nobody'. The insertion of 'a' implies that the term nobody is being used as a noun with a specific meaning relating to the matter under discussion, as distinct from its general definition of there not being anybody.

Therefore, 'a nobody' in this circumstance is 'a somebody' (you) who is not a student.

    Pffft!

Once a Comp Syser, ALWAYS a Comp Syser! none of this Undergraduate/Graduate lark.

    For my desert island tunes

Halo Theme (Mjolnir Mix) - Halo 2 Volume 1
Dance, Dance - String Quartet Tribute to Fall Out Boy
Next to You - Bell X1
    Olsen Olsen - Sigur Ros
    Memories - Within Temptation
Killing all the Flies - Mogwai
    Rain - Breaking Benjamin
    Hollywood Died - Yellow Card
Dayvan Cowboy - Boards of Canada
Bolero - Craig Armstrong (Moulin Rouge soundtrack)

Probably best not to play this, as only I would enjoy it :D

I was in, looks very well and was comfortably busy :)

    Food is very good

It's all a bit meh. Nothing I haven't seen before tbh, nothing radical or revolutionary, all the same its nice to have an alternative to the stables, it's certainly a helluva lot classier. Didn't check the prices but I'd imagine its on the expensive side by the look of things. Anyway good luck to them, I hope it works out cos we need an alternative to the stables! (Im only here 4 weeks and I can see that.)

Without prejudice to the other food operators, two of those outlets are run by the same people as the Stables and the other two are run by the people who operate almost all of the food outlets on campus. Not necessarily an alternative then, though certainly an alternative location.

Oh yeah and none of the above outlets serve anything stronger than coffee.

It resurfaces painful memories of the Scholars...will it ever be the same though???

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,467 ✭✭✭✭cson

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,421 ✭✭✭bluedolphin

Painful in that it hurts to recall the place that is no longer there! Remembering the Scholars (RIP) ignites pain!!! :p:p:p

    Enjoy Excel!
