    Nice!

The in-car view is very nice, but it dissapoints me that you can't see the indicators clearly, I've seen the high-rez pictures of in-car views and they are all blurry and jaggy, how hard is it make them clear and detailed? it was done in the first Need for Speed.

Also driver's hands look odd when turning the wheel couple of times, just unnatural like.

And another thing, is why isn't he shifting gears? I hope if you play in a manual mode a gear shifting animation will be added.

Graphically spectacular, but no damage models and STILL no skidmarks.

Just a quick question for people that want damage in their racing games.
Are you talking about cosmetic damage or 'realistic' damage?

It's nice to see bits falling off of a car (in game) after a bit of a crash but I'd imagine that lots of people would get frustrated and pissed off very quickly if realistic damage were implemented.

Can you imagine how many people would be complaining after having to retire in the first lap of a 40 lap race because the slight bump they have grown used to in other games has resulted in their car being undrivable because of a new fancy 'realistic' damage system.

Well i'd imagine it could be an option to turn it off if people got annoyed.

I guess it would then come down to the percentage of people that would turn it off, ie: the casual gamer. And if the casual gamer accounts for 95% of customers, then implementing something as important and time consuming as realistic damage for 5% of the customers wouldn't really make sense. It would come down to choice vs cost, and one would have to give.

    Just my 2cents.

I thought the old Midtown Madness handled damage well while still keeping it true to the game and fun - a stop go penalty if your car gets damaged too much and the car is repaired.....

Haven't played GT in years!!! Does it still have the feature of tyre wear? I remember whittling away hours at a friends house (once tired a cunning strategy of going an extra lap while he pitted but didn't maintain the tyres well enough and it backfired - off topic question that I am curious about...If you were to drive easy, is it possible to wear tyres less and actually go further on a set - we were finding that you had to pit every 3rd lap)

    🤪

There's a nice walkthrough by Yamauchi here from the Leipzig Games Convention:

    http://www.jeux-france.com/news21522_gc-demo-de-gt5-prologue.html

It's almost pornographic how good it looks. They talk about the features of the game, including a TV feature (that will show car related shows and footage - perhaps Top Gear?) as well as the possibilities for integration with Home (i.e. eventually they want you to be able to walk directly from Home into the GT World - perhaps your garage?).

Also, there's a fairly detailed breakdown here, including mention of damage:

    http://kotaku.com/gaming/gc07/gran-turismo-5-prologue-to-feature-car-damage-improved-ai-better-physics-293208.php

update - actually, there was some confusion over what he said re. damage. Some are saying he said it would not be in Prologue, along with some other things, but that updates to Prologue were possible, and GT5 could be a different story. Certainly, in the videos, there's no evidence of damage, cosmetic or otherwise, so I'd go with it not being in there for now.
