Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I've heard some people talk of the hiden costs of the 360 add up to the difference in the ps3. What are these costs anyways?

I dont a HD-DVD as of yet, as i dont have a HD TV, so i dont need the hd add on, but what are the extra costs compared to Sony's?

People like to harp on about "hidden costs" to make the PS3 seem like better value. The only "hidden cost" there is is that you have to pay for Xbox Live (not really hidden, but it is an extra cost, much cheaper if you get a card on Ebay). The Premium kit comes with everything you need, including a component cable (tho you don't use that if you don't have a HD TV).

HD-DVD drive is totally optional, most people wouldn't bother with that. If you only have a wireless network then you might want to consider the wireless network adapter, otherwise just use the cable that's included. That's about it I think.

The only hidden cost that comes to mind is the controller........if you get a premium console then you'll want to buy a play and charge kit.

So theres really no extra costs then, except for the Live subscription (as a previous xbox woner, its well worth it)!

Damn those Sony fanboys, makin me doubt the 360!

I already have a wireless WiFi yoke, but not the Xbox one, will that matter or can i use any one?

There are no hidden costs Xbox are up front about everything , you dont have to buy any of them , people only list them when comparing like for like ie : wireless , online gaming , HD format disk player . ( which is just a fair way of comparing two consoles is to compare two with the same stats )

In the high street the 3 things listed would cost over 380 but it can be got online for quite a bit less .

Nope - it has to be the official Xbox one if you're going wireless. Otherwise it would have to be a wired connection.

Check out Adverts.ie or eBay and I'm sure you can pick up a cheaper one.

I use standard rechargable batteries. Seem to last for ages for me. Cheaper too.

Thats the thing that a lot of people don't realize... Xbox gives you the option if you want to add these. the PS3 don't

the wifi adapter is a ripoff but still very handy, always keep an eye on the adverts section or ebay. I managed to pick one up for 45eur
