Disappointed that there isn't more of his WCW matches on it.

Picked that up for like £2 or £2.50 during that big CDWOW WWE DVD sale... must watch it soon. Looks interesting though.

Got around to watching this tonight.

What an unbelievable and sad story but a great documentary that I would recommend.

    Thanks for the recommendation Rovert.

cactus mac88 get this then as most say this is better:

    51JPJVYZ41L._SL500_AA300_.jpg

The story is a massively sleazy tragedy.

Irvin Muchnick wrote in 1988 Penthouse magazine exposé on the WCCW and Von Erich tragedies. That is still shocking now post-internet and the opening up of the Wrestling business.

    http://www.hack-man.com/Wrestling/NewsArticles/198810xx-PenthouseVonErich.html

I remember Gary Hart in his book writing that he walked in on Chris Von Erich at age 12/13 snorting cocaine.

Got my hands on the new Stone Cold DVD and Randy Orton: Evolution of a predator.

Watched the Stone cold one last night (Well watched disc one and the matches up to WM14 - vs. HBK). It was a really good documentary on his life. I was shocked at how emotional he got when he was talking about
his last Wrestlemania match with the Rock. Even the Rock looked like he was about to cry.

Will probably stick on disc 1 of the Randy Orton DVD now in a while, looks interesting enough. The only thing, it probably totally dismisses his first World Title win, since it was against Benoit :(

Had a look at the doc disc of the new stone cold dvd last night.
Holy wow that was a great dvd, i love the raw honesty he gives throughout the 2 and a half hours.

Really is a great watch. And i havent even put on the matches yet, gonna leave that for over christmas. :D

Make sure you watch JR & Austin's Wrestlemania XIX commentary. Defo something to look forward to.

Just got finished watching the Austin DVD and it was brilliant.

Maybe the best documentary type DVD they have done?

Also really enjoyed the 3 commentaries Austin does with JR for his matches against Bret, Shawn and Rock.

    Highly recommended

Looking forward to seeing the doc and it'll be nice to have all them skits and clips on the one package but the collection of matches ain't great as I'm pretty sure most if not all of them have already been included on compilations or at least already out on other DVDs. Was hoping* for more WCW stuff.

Any verdicts on the other new WWF DVDs out? Bret/Shawn, Rey Mysterio, Greatest Cage matces, Ladder Match 2?

    *against hope of course!

I was the same before i got the Austin DVD. I had seen most all the matches bar 1 but Austin and JR commentate on his matches against Bret, HBK and Rock and i really enjoyed what Austin had to say.

    The documentary itself is fantastic.

Ive only picked up the Shawn/Bret DVD and really enjoyed it. Ive heard people saying its boring because its basically just the 2 of them talking to JR for 2 hours but I thought it was great because they go over their whole feud/matches etc while sitting beside each other rather then separate interviews.

Jeff Jarrett 4 disc King of the Mountain DVD is only £5 before postage from TNA EuroShop, anyone seen it? Surely worth it at that price?

The Austin DVD is good, although he seemed somewhat agitated the whole way through the interview I thought. Still pretty good though. WWE can really put together a good DVD when they make the effort.

Has anyone bought DVDs from silvervision recently?

Id say 3 of the last 5 DVDs I have bought have come with no DVD listing sheet with them.

Its not a big deal but its annoying when you just want to go to certain match or whatever on the 3 disc sets and you have to put in each dvd (and go through the whole "don't try this at home" videos each time) to see whats on them.

Loads of dvds on sale on silvervision. And a lot more recent than you would expect, like WM 27 and Royal Rumble blu ray for 12 quid.

    WWE1331-front.jpgWWE1325-front.jpgWWEBD1320-front.jpg

That greatest stars of the 21st century i watched last night on netflix, it passed the time but thought it would be a lot more than it was.
Worth 12 quid if you want to get a present for a younger fan to show them a bit of Recent history.

I'm not sure about the irish/uk one, but for the US one there is:
Greatest superstars of the 21st century,
    Rey Mysterio dvd,
    Greatest Cage matches,
    The chaperone, knucklehead, legendary,
Batista: i walk alone, Macho madness, the Jericho dvd
But those are just from doing quick searches.

Obviously the PPV and tv sets (best of raw 2010 for example) arent available.

Theres no wrestling stuff on the irish Netflix.

At least not yet anyway. All the content has to be cleared country by country, release by release.

Top 50 Superstars of All Time

Watched that the other night on netflix and the list was a joke.

Who chose the list? Was it voted for by fans or did WWE choose it themselves?

Enjoyed the Roddy Piper documentary. Very honest I thought.

Had to turn the Rey documentary off after a few minutes on netflix when he was going on about how important his mask is and how its his life. Didn't you take it off in WCW and wrestle without it for 2 years pal?

Wasn't Rey's mask quite a big money spinner despite WCW's booking? Makes sense to take it off :pac:

    Huh?

Rey was booked extremely well from his debut to 1999.

WCW's merchandising department were shocking outside of NWO shirts. So no. Bischoff thought masks limited wrestlers in getting over. Rey and Juvi weren't your normal troll looking Luchadores either. Both were good looking dudes and at times people thought Juvi was a good looking chick but that's a different story.

He still wrestled without it for 2 years. Listening to him you would think he had it on since birth.

And isn't it seen as disrespectful or something among luchadores (might not be the correct term) if you unmask but then start wearing the mask again. I could be wrong but I thought I heard that before.
