    There a pros and cons to a this.

    1) Con: I personally feel they make sites look tacky. I've seen them used alot and that just my feel of it
    2) Pros: Lurkers who don't actually contribute to boards are the ones who see the adds and its a good make to recover some of the costs involved in supporting these people.

    Its not perfect but needs must and all that business.
