    I picked up a thigh strain in the cup match so I am going to sit this one out. I should be ok for friday if we have a cup game.

    Howya lads, greetings from the other side of the world. Good to see things are still going strong, will be nice to have a team to come back to when I finally get around to coming home.     We're doing ok, better than last season I think, a lot of draws in the league though, and on Friday gone we had a cup game. We play in Div 11, and played a Div 6 team. We beat them on Pens!

    they won 2-1 after we went 1-0 up early on (goal from joe).

    was a hard fought game, I thought we played fairly well, certainly couldn't fault anyone's efforts towards the end, we really didn't get enough decent chances for our work though

    - when's round 2 of the cup? I'm away from tomorrow until monday if it's this weekend (:()

    another 1 goal defeat, with both goals coming late in each half...the first especially sickening considering the half time whistle blew seconds later. the second goal was an og with about 8 left. we had 3 or 4 chances to get one in the last 15 or so minutes. we defended very well during the game, as they were a big side and pushed us for a good half hour. this must be the 5th or 6th game that we have lost by 1 goal.

    I'm gutted my shot didnt go in. I was already off daydreaming of my celebration when it was leaving my foot.:)

    Have to say, this playing up front thing is'nt all bad. Anooying defenders is pretty good. lets you see a lot of whats going on too. We need to get stuck into players a lot more , we're standing off players a lot on high balls, we win very few. They we're a big team yesterday so we couldnt really match them for that but the refs are fairly weak in the league so as long as you kind of make it look like your tryign to get the ball you can get away with jumping into them. We need to get more physical.

    Defo agree on the get physical thing. They were big heffers, I dunno about getting stuck in, there's only so close you can get before you over commit yourself. On grass you can get a foot in but on Astro you get taken out of the game with one wrong judgement call. If you stay tight without committing, the opposing player has to do something special with the ball. 99 times out of a 100 he'll try a 50 yard pass and make an arse of it. At least he hasn't left you standing there with egg on your face.

    That's just my 2c, I know I'm the newbie all over again but couldnt help myself :o
