Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Should maybe go in the games forum but what the hell

    wwe-smackdown-vs-raw-2008-20070703064145802.jpg

Sweet or what, lets just hope a few ECW guys last long enough to make the game that would be cool, The games are good each year for having guys in it who will only make one game, Goldberg etc

    Can't wait!!

Is it just me or does Lashley look like a wounded fish?

Apparently a Create a move is in the game. I'm 90% sure however the negatives could be either too hard and too time consuming or too simplistic.
If done right then CAW'S will be much better.

ECW will have seperate matches. Rumour has it this could mean flaming tables(In my opinion flaming tables belong in GTA not in a wrestling ring)

Looks good but i wonder how the controls have changed too. The controls for wrestling games have always been the hardest thing to get right. There always a bit confusing and can never remember which buttons do what move which can be annoying if you want a power move but get a submission one instead.

Far from impressed. Given the detail of Fight Night round 3 on the XBOX 360, it doesn't look like anything the 360 won't be able to handle :)

THQ (publisher) and YUKES (developer) have been regurgitating the same old stuff since the decent "Here Comes The Pain" was released.

Every year the character models get a bit more detailed, the roster gets updated (a minimum feature to be expected), but THQ/Yukes consistently FAIL to correct the multitude of failings in the Smackdown Vs. Raw game series.

For THQ/YUKES, it's all about dumb gimmicky additions that add no long term value. All style over substance. Any small amount of real 'fixes' or 'improvements' they do provide are rare and appear very few and far between over the course of the series' existance. Half-assed improvements to battle-royal elimination (SvR) and cage-match escapes (SvR:2006) are two that spring to mind - such things should have been waaaaaaaaaaaaay better than what resulted.

Pointless restrictions imposed on match types, limited wrestling maneouvres, stupid computer artificial intelligence, ridiculously shoddy commentary, dreadful clipping with ring ropes, nonsensical and short-changingly terse season modes, inexplicable deletions of previous year's match types + wrestling holds + create-a-wrestler parts, and on and on and on.

I believe some of the blame must fall on WWE, since they, no doubt, provide rules to THQ over how their intellectual properties appear in video game form.

Review sites and magazines deserve some blame too - each year they, by and large, proclaim that the series is at risk of running out of steam due to bugs beneath the glossy paint, yet STILL give high scores to the title. Every damn time.

More blame must rest with the multitude of apparently brain-damaged fans (check the IGN smackdown vs. raw messageboard for ample proof), who have set such a low bar for yearly improvements from THQ/YUKES and lap up anything WWE-related in video game form, it enough to make you hold your head in your hands. The majority are morons who make this franchise an annual best-seller, though it does not deserve it.

THQ and YUKES are laughing all the way to the bank, knowing full well that millions of gullible fans will buy the next iteration, no matter how little innovation or value for money is present. The franchise trap.

It's a bit unfair to put some of the blame of it on WWE. Just because WWE give out a set of rules doesn't mean Yukes will implement it. All they have to do is go back to WWE marketing and say "this isn't possible" and that'll be good enough. Everywhere falls into that trap. The powers that be say "can't be done" and everyone accepts it except for the brave f*cker who says "i disagree" and finds himself on the unemployment line five days later.

I will agree with everything else, They made some slight adjustments of the control technique for 2007 but the game was essentially the same as 2006. But same could be said for the GTA series since 2001. At the end of the day, it sells on the name itself. THQ make money, Yukes make money, WWE make money and the buyers get a few hours killed and a few brain cells wasted but at least they're not on the street.

    Everyone's happy!

This game is looking bad. It will be along the same lines as Smackdown Vs Raw 1. First of all, they are moving to more of an Arcade style game, meaning no resting meaning a less realistic game .

Not only this but we will see old idea's re-incarnated as new features , such as adding custom music and more fighting in the croud.

Then last but not least , Smackdown for the first time will have DLC (downloadable content) You will be able to download other wreslers by paying €4 or somthing like that. While the kids will jump at this, i would like to point out that these are features that were already in the game but they are holding it back.

With regards to legends , my bet you will see Rick Rude , Steamboat and Savage . As these models were made last year but kept for this year. They did the same the previous 2 years . Some of the legends were hackable.
