Has anybody ever heard of the make Genesis for a racing bike, or would anybody have an opinion on the make

They're an offshoot of the Ridgeback brand - focusing on a slightly higer standard of bike. They look like good value for money.

After looking at it and the spec really not worth it for that money take a look at this one its better speced amd the frame got great reveiws in Cycling Weekly

Even better value now that Wiggle has a 5% discount on it (£800 -> £760).

To the OP: note that the bike you linked to is a triple, and the Focus is a compact double, so the gears won't go as low. One advantage the Genesis has is that it has carbon seat stays. Also note that the Focus doesn't come with pedals.
