Nuvi 350: SD Card with American Maps

Hi there - sorry if this has been asked before, I can't find a reference. I have a European Nuvi 350 preloaded with the European maps (including Ireland). If I purchase the Americas NT maps on an SD card, will they work in the device? Why bother? Well, it's $140 there and EUR 288 here. Nuff said.
