    Hey was wondering what are the best value cycling shoes you can get at the 100 euro mark?

    It depends on whether its road or mtb use. Its a (good) while since I rode competitively but I always found Sidi to be the best you could get. Cycling shoes are the most important part of your kit (along with a good saddle) and i always found the leather soles in the Sidi's to be super.

    the not very informative but correct answer is the pair that fit you best. If it's your first pair then probably best to go to a shop but if you're willing to take a risk, I buy quite a few pairs from e-bay where there is great value to be had.

    A lot of people will push shoes with carbon soles as the best. They are very light and can be designed to mazimise the percentage of your effort that goes into turning the pedal but they are also very rigid which may be a bit hard on your feet. In particular it can lead to hot spots (you'll know what these are when you first get them!). I'm tempted to tell you to buy a size up from what you notamlly wear for your first pair. That little bit of room might make for a more comfortable ride. Then aain you might have feet of steel and not need this.


    If you're buying shoes for triathlon, see if you can get a pair with a single strap. This will help cut a few seconds off your time in transition and these second may be vital for shorter distances. If you're feeling brave you can leave such shoes attached to you pedals and jump on a moving bike and then put your feet in while you pedal.

    hey. i got a pair of specialised mtn bike shoes. they were 90eur. theyre grand. toured with them last month round italy and no problems, plus theyre handy for walking around in due to the rubber studs in the sole. got 'em from cycleways, parnell st.
