Well now that ye have signed Bent do ye reckon there's any chance of Jol letting Defoe go? I'm a Villa fan so my fingers are firmly crossed! We could do with a player like him. There's no shame in taking your sloppy seconds!

Rumours of moves, then no moves, then moves again...

In public Defoe says he will stay to fight for his place, but in private he is believed to be unhappy and wants a move for regular football. He may choose to see out his contract for a free transfer, as Spurs value him at £10m+.
