    Nope. Why?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,138 ✭✭✭takola

That would be more suited to Limerick, It's how everyone talks down there. Can't say I've heard many teenagers talk like that here in years!! :D Only seen that you didn't write that until after!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,640 ✭✭✭Gillie

I would use a lot of those words on a daily basis and I'm not a teenager!
    Maybe it's just me

Back to the things I like about Sligo.
The Eagles Flying place near Ballymote, fantastic day out and quite reasonbly priced as well.

as a native of sligo i can say that list is funny but it looks to be modified from somewhere else, some of that stuff is definitely not sligo.

The countryside and the beaches mainly - the romanticism of them. The town itself is awful.. or maybe thats because 80% of the people who inhabit it are.

Bistro Bianconi is one of the nicest restaurants.. and Davi's, even though its horrible to work for! Lyons Café is spot on too!

Well here's a few for starters

    The scenery
    The beaches
    The culture and history- Yeats
    The friendlyness
The retail outlets- good mix of small boutiques / shops and chain stores)
Good restaurants- Bistros, Davis's, Fiddlers, pizzerias and the fast food joints- 4 Lites!
    Good pubs

Yes, I agree with this list. I've never been in Fiddler's though.. whens the best time to go.. because whenever I've tried to book before they're always full!
Fast Food Joint would be Molly's for me.. even though I can't eat the chips for the past 2 years as I'm a vegetarian.
Not so sure about the "friendliness" of some of the townfolk!

    Can you elaborate please?
80% of the ppl are awful??
    What does that mean?

    Just read this other post.
You obviously had a bad experience?
Not all Sligo ppl are a$$holes!

I would rather be here than some other large urban areas in this country - believe me.

Thats a bit below the belt isn't it?! Did you have a bad experience when you were here? Do tell!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,640 ✭✭✭Gillie

Now I know that there are some muppets in Sligo but they are all over Ireland.
Sligo is certainly not especially unfriendly! I would agree with Madge and assume you've had a bad experience.
    Otherwise it's an unfair generalisation!

    Are you a Sligo native?

Thats a very singular opinion and is bordering on flaming. I will hold on a yellow card (just about) seeing as you are relatively new here. Tread carefully.

I can't eat the chips for the past 2 years as I'm a vegetarian.
As Frank Carson would say - "thats a cracker" :D:D
