    SUBURBAN KIDS WITH BIBLICAL NAMES (on at 3pm)

    Suburban Kids with Biblical Names are Peter Gunnarsson and Johan Hedberg from Haninge in Sweden. They write upbeat pop music better than anyone else. A lot of their lyrics are about alienation but no one seems to notice. They have been compared to Jonathan Richman, Pavement, Magnetic Fields and Beck.

    Their debut album #3 has recently been released in the UK & Ireland on Dublin's yesboyicecream records. They got 8/10 for #3 in NME last month and 4/5 in Uncut. That's 12 out of a possible total of 15 - they've since committed to trying harder for the next album. Beth Ditto was naked on the cover of that issue of NME, so some people might have missed the review. Amelia's Magazine, The Guardian and Plan B are other publications to have expressed a fondness for the band.

    They are headlining at the the Galway Arts Festival on Thursday, before moving to Cork (Cyprus Avenue) for a late gig on Friday. They finish up on Sunday afternoon in Dublin in Kennedy's. They will be playing songs from their forthcoming album #4.

    Suburban Kids will be on Edel Coffey's show on Phantom tomorrow morning, playing a song and talking about life as a suburban kid with a biblical name.

    Gig this Sunday....29th. 2 o'clock in the day.

    Should be fun.
