lan/wireless connection question

    i've tried connecting my laptop as part of a lan,as a laptop on it's own and over a wireless connection. Everytime i connect fine and can send data but either recieve no data or between 1 and 7 packets.

    For the lan/laptop on it's own i changed it from automatic settings to type in my own details. I found the details through run - ipconfig.

    Any idea as to why i can't recieve data?

    I'm using windows 2000

    How are you connecting to the wireless Router?

    Is encryption enabled?

    Is MAC Filtering Used?

    Try disabling all wireless security on the Router and see if you can connect.

    Then turn on whatever security is being used one at a time.

    Also have you a firewall on your PC, try disabling that also.
