Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I could be sarcastic but I wont. I live in Kildare, and most the stuff i learnt about Linux I have done by myself, but I would have love to have had a mentor, and other people to talk about Linux and just computers in general. Dublin has a LUG and not ever one lives( though most work there) in Dublin, this will a place to learn, to pass on the knowledge that people have gained.I know many people try the Live CDs but i is as far as they they go as they are afraid they might do some thing wrong, I know I was, and I did do this wrong and learnt from my mistakes but it would have easier if could have got some help , show were i was making my mistakes.

Small LUGs are awkward to keep going. Even in cities it can be very awkward to get busy people to come to meetings with any regularity. I'd suggest keeping an eye out on ILUG for the date of the next LEWD (Linux Enthusiasts of West-ish Dublin-ish) POTD. You may have more luck turning up in Lucan to meet people than trying to get a whole new group of people to meet in Kildare. That said, even they are infrequent and LEWD is a relatively established group.

(BTW I'm not in the area as you can see and am as such not interested)

I'm in Kildare myself and I'm just getting started on Linux at the moment.
I don't have a lot of time at the moment, but would definately be interested in joining this group. I think the idea around it is very good & would be interested in finding out more about how the user group works.

You've probably seen it, but there is a bit of info here on setting up a LUG.
