    Hi lads/ladies,

Just wondering if any of you know of any pubs or clubs with cheap beer promotions. The only two I know of are:

McGowans (phibsboro) €3 a drink after 10pm, €6 admission Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays

Fibbers (off O'Connell St) €3 a drink, I think the admission is a fiver, Thursdays.

Anyone know of anywhere else that does this kind of thing?

Didn't the government ban that sort of thing a while back?
Something to do with binge drinking.

As far as I know its illegal for drink prices to be changed for part of a day, this is to avoid excessive drinking over a short period. It is not illegal however to have permanently reduced prices. This is from the Intoxicating Liquor Act 2003
    http://www.citizensinformation.ie/categories/justice/criminal-law/criminal-offences/alcohol_and_the_law#rules
Since August 2003 it is illegal in Ireland to sell alcohol at reduced prices for a limited period during any day. (In other words, 'happy hour' is now prohibited).

Ok we'll tell the landlords not to do it then
but I'd still be interested to know what pubs do the offers!

It is legal to increase the price of drink during the day but not reduce it. I think Redz on Westmoreland St and Q Bar do drinks promotions on certain days but never go to either so can't help further unfortunately.

there are loads of pubs that do 3 euro drinks on certain nights

there is a happy hour ban but i think because it is for the whole night is how they get away with it
