Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Derry City v FC Pyunik
    Wednesday, 18 July 2007 11:11

Watch Derry City v FC Pyunik live on RTÉ Two and www.rte.ie/live (island of Ireland only). The game is live around the world for listeners on RTÉ Radio 1 Medium Wave at: http://www.rte.ie/smiltest/radio1mw.smil

Derry City take on Armenia's FC Pyunik in tonight's Champions League qualifier at the Brandywell, kick-off 7.45pm.

City will be boosted by the return of Killian Brennan, Pat McCourt and Ken Oman who have recovered from injuries.

Manager John Robertson has a full squad to choose from as his side aim to make the most of tonight's home leg.

'Derry enjoyed huge success last year with wins over Gothenburg and Gretna. Our opponents will have taken note of that,' said Robertson.

'If we can progress we play Shaktar Donesk which is a big incentive.'

Pyunik have eight Armenia internationals in their squad including Hamlet Mkhitaryan who recently scored the winner for Armenia against Poland in a Euro 208 qualifier.

It will be interesting to see how Ireland's 2nd best team fare in European Cup against these unknown quantities, they can't be that bad if the have 8 Armenia internationals in their squad. I'll go with Derry to take a 1-0 lead into leg 2.

Still, gutted that i'm not in Tolka tonight watching this Armenian lot :(

McCourt and Molloy were the only players who looked bothered out there tonight.

At least in the 2nd leg both teams will have a clear objective cause that kind of game is just depressing to watch.:(

I'm sure they will have a bit more about them but they gave up too many chances tonight for me to say that the tie is over.
