By the way, if by boyfriend bought me underwear cos HE wanted me to wear it and not cos I wanted to wear it, i'd pretty much ban him from the bedroom until some serious apologising was done!!!!

    ah jazzzzzus that's pretty selfish...
i find in our relationship i get as much pleasure out of doing something for her as doing something for myself and she says the its the same for her.

that's what part of real relationship is all about, doing things to please your partner as well as yourself

i know very little men who buy flowers because HE wanted them or very little women who buy power tools because SHE wanted them...its all about pleasing your partner that way they find it as easy to please you too.,

In fairness corklady, she told him to buy it if he wanted her to wear it and from the sounds of things it's not like the guy went out and bought latex peep hole bras and crotchless panties or anything (though maybe that was the problem ;))

OP - how would she react to a gift voucher for La Perla / Agent Provocater etc? i.e. really high end, classy lingerie

what did he buy her? i was under the impression it WAS crotchless panties and the like

What i meant is that if she's already made it clear she doesn't like that sorta stuff, it's kinda rude that he went and bought a load of it just cos he wanted her to wear it. i doubt she was serious when she said "if you want me to wear them then buy them for me" but then again, she did say it so maybe she should have stuck to her word! or maybe she should've been clearer!!!

as well as that, don't get me wrong, i'm not against trying something cos the other person wants to, but if my boyfriend was obsessing about sexy underwear for ages and then went away and bought it after i telling him i don't want to wear it, i would be mad ya.

Well, he said he went to BTs and M&S, you're not going to get anything very tacky there - BTs in particular has lovely things. If she said she'd wear them if he bought them for her, I'd presume her to mean it -why would she not just have said that she wasn't interested otherwise?

What amazes me most about this thread is the thinking that nice underwear is worn more for the guy's amusement than the girl's. Most girls I know appreciate nice underwear, regardless of whether they're single or attached: it's like a self-esteem that nobody else knows about ;) I've never really thought of it as something a girl would really object to. Each to their own, I guess.

Think of it this way, if she wanted you to wear something that you thought was ridiculous, you wouold'nt feel very sexy and you probably would'nt be very comfortable doing that. Thats probably what she feels like when you ask her to wear something that she's just not used to and maybe doesn't find very sexy herself. Whats the big deal anyway, it all comes off in the end!

by the way, alot of you have a really twisted opinion of people from country. it is the year 2007, we'r not in the dark ages anymore. i mean, we have everything that you have up in the big smoke ( except for starbucks : ( unfortunatly).
