Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

alright lads, im having problems with vista. Its been a bumpy ride, and one that im not that keen on taking, but i was the same with xp.

I use irc on a daily basis and im starting to come across a few problems with it and vista. When you load mirc for the first time, you enter in your details..

    name
    email
    username
    Alt username

These settings are not saving for me, and its a real pain having to enter them every time i load up irc.

Any ideas how to sort this?

Probably just an issue with the version of mirc you are using. IMO, Mirc is rubbish. Give xchat for windows a try.

That is the case with many programs that have not been updated for Vista.

With a few programs, i found it worked ok if i ran it as administrator.

Another option is to give yourself full access to the MIRC directory and sub directories.

I wouldn't advise running mirc as an administrator. If you click on anything malicious it will run with those privs, and if there's any exploits for the version of mirc you're using it could be very bad indeed.

    Thats very true.

Considering that no new version of MIRC has been released since Nov 06 it looks like it is not being actively maintained.

Try another version which works with Vista is best bet.

Sounds like your user account does not have write access to wherever mIRC is installed so it can't write your settings to its config files. That's not a vista problem, its just that you were probably using an account with full admin rights in XP (therefore with write access to all folders) and you're not in Vista.
