    Dervish (Eurovision excepted), Altan and Seamie O'Dowd. Seamie is not that well known elsewhere, but the man is a genius.

    Yes Dervish for sure. They are so good live. The north west has a history of trad really, at least if we are led to believe by all the wee festivals that are going on. Coleman festival etc

    Does Pauline McGlynn count? (ie Mrs Doyle etc) She was born in Sligo dont know whether she sees herself as a Sligo head?
