What size rims will fit on a 96 Polo?

Want to tidy up the car a wee bit, just wondering what size rims I might fit on it, and also if I can get wider tyres as well coz sometimes I see other Polos ahead of me and think the tyres are godawful thin...

I dont know the biggest size rims a polo will take but i wouldnt go bigger that 16s to be honest .

a set of 185 wide 15's or maybe 16swill look smart on it imho .. anything bigger and it will look cr@p
