Arky, all you need is a dip belt, you can get them in a lot of bodybuilding shops. I ordered mine off bodybuilding.com at http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/dipbelt.htm

Hanely, those reps are fairly strict, I don't do much jerking, although I am at an angle of about 20-30% (not strictly parallel) to the floor. I can definitely do 80kg for 10+ good reps. Do you do much rows anyways Hanley? You don't seem to. Probably just lack of chins/rows is all...

    Wednesday - 17/10/07 - GCG

    Bench:
    bar x 20
    60kg x 15
    80kg x 10
    100kg x 6
    115kg x 2
    115kg x 2.5
    115kg x 1
Was so close to getting 3rd rep on the 2nd set of 115kg. So close...feck.

    Dips:
    bw x 10
    +10kg x 6
    +20kg x 6
    +35kg x 3, 2 (sucked big time, wtf like)

    French press:
    27kg x 10
    37kg x 7
    42kg x 6 x 2

    Forearm work:
couple sets of reverse curls with ez barl (27kg)

Rep range was really low today. But I wanted to get new bench PBs

My forearms and bi's are really lagging. I need to start blasting my forearms more...

I do feck all bent over rowing. For me, the costs out weight the benefits. Instead I do things like dumbbell rows, chest supported rows and fat man rows. That's in addition to pulldown variations (palms facing away from me, in towards me, neutral grip etc) and pull ups/chins.

I try to get some form of lat work in every session like, bent over rows are something that has just nevner ever agreed with me tho. Maybe my back angles the problem, I've always tried to do them as close to parrallel to the floor as possible.

Explain what ya mean the "cost outweighs the benefit". DB rows are probably better to be honest. I just feel that I get a bit of benefit out if psychologically, I mean I'm doing the reverse of the bench on the same plane so to speak so the more I can DB row I feel I'm pushing my bench as well. Seems to hit me good anyways.

Wel because I like to use a lot of volume to train my core lifts (squat and deadlift in this case) my lower back can take a pounding from squatting 2x a week and deadlifting heavy from the floor, rack and also RDLs.

So I try to avoid exercises that put any additional stress on my lower back. That's why I choose dumbbell rows, chest supported rows and fat man rows over barbell rows.

I jsut feel there's better options for ME because of the amonut of work already being placed on my lower back.

Well, I'm nearly the complete opposite at the moment because of my back ligaments, do little or no deadlifting and only squatting 1x a week. Your squat, dead routine is sick, makes me wanna cry. My back would be ****ign ruined. I think I'm gonna start deadlifting proper in the next few weeks soon...hopefully

Going heavier now on Saturday. Going to up the lifts from Tues by a few k's each. I should be able to handle it. I'm going to go lighter/more reps on the Mon/Tues for chest/tris/back/bis and then heavier on the Fri/Sat. It's gonna be really hard to fit in workouts with my exams coming up. Have done **** all study and only 2 weeks left. Gotta get down to it...
