You should be able to find a job when you go over there, most of the students will have left. Likewise with apartments, they'll start becoming free from May. Expect to pay about £300 each per month, excluding bills. There's loads of 2-bed apartments that'll be available. Best areas to look are: Marchmont, Newington, Dalkeith Road, Tollcross, Haymarket, Old Town and New Town.

When renting, ensure you're paying a fixed rate for the whole summer, because rents skyrocket in August (you could expect to pay about £750 - £1000 per week for a decent 2 bed apartment in August).

Students will start advertising their flats through the University of Edinburgh student forum, for one. It can be accessed through http://www.eusa.ed.ac.uk .
