Well, if Sack Thompson has anything to do with it, with the bannage of the Manhunt game and all, imagine a world where we get grand teased auto 4 only for it to be banned!! Scary thought indeed.

Jack Thompsons recent settlement with Rockstar over Bully means he can't do a damn thing about GTA4 or any future releases from Take 2.

It's what pissed me off about SA, it was just too big, and couple that with a story line that just irked me, i just got bored .

i hated the way they advertise these GTA games as do anything you absolutely want, when you can't do absolutely everything.

i'm looking forward to IV as it seems to bring back the same style as GTA:III/VC where the city isn't as big but at least you'll know where you're going.

I liked the size of the city but I think it's probably a good bargain to trade size for resolution and graphics, GTA SA was on a rather dated graphical system by that stage. Although there was one advantage of GTA SA, that was in relation to multiplayer mods. SA-MP can have at maximum 100 players on at a given time on the San Andreas map so it's good fun when you have deathmatch and car chases across the map. But it's a good trade in relation to GTA IV.

Loved the size of GTA:SA esp for plane chases, etc.

But you see the is no planes in GTA 4, R* thought that since there's only one city (unlike San Andreas) there was no need for plane because there's (maybe) only one airport... so there's only helicopters and posibly Water-planes. It's a shame but I see R* point.

for the last GTA series Rockstar didn't have to worry about the engine so they kept expanding the games features. Now that GTA: SA starts to look dated in relation to our Quake 4's etc, it's time for the Rockstar crew to bring it up to next generation with less features. Although in the next few games they can build on this like last time. GTA 3 didn't have motorbikes, and helicopters but it was still a good game with a brilliant storyline.

Yeah, that is true. But what I'm worrying about is that they have changed it too much, like 3D GTA games before hand had a nice feel, because of not being over realistic. And when I heard the driving style was going to br simular to the Midnight Club game I wasn't happy, because I hated Midnight Club & I loved the simpleness of GTA's driving. And when they said when you draw your gun everybody scaters in a big panic which is a really cool thing, but what if a Coper is about wouldn't that mean you'll get an instent *, TBH I think that'll be a huge pain in the hole!

But fingers-crossed it'll turn out to be an excellent game as usual!

I'm guessıng Lıberty Cıty ın gta4 won't be that bıg. Alot of stuff was saıd about the sıze of the map ın SA before ıt came out that wasn't true at all. I serıously doubt ıt takes 1 hour to get from one sıde of the cıty to the other.

Personally I'd hate to go back to a cıty the sıze of Lıberty Cıty ın gta3 or Vıce Cıty. It's just too small and everythıng gets boring very quickly.

Well I'm sure thats not be the case, because we had the best amount of fun with the small maps eg. GTA III and Vice City.

GTA III and the dodo's difficulty to master was good also, flying it felt like you had achieved something... not like the planes in SA :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,688 ✭✭✭Nailz

I never mastered the dodo, and I never think I will. I gave up on it really...

on the PC or the PS2. I've done it on both, actually google it theres instructions on how. I've flown it for around 20 mins max around the islands.

PS2 & I'll have a go at googling it for Instructions, thanks!

I checked out the two trailers for the game on youtube, i have to say i was pretty impressed, the graphics in the trailer give off great appeal, but for the gaming graphics that could be different.

For me im hoping for a large map, not as much sections like GTA:SA with each section for each location. just one map for the city of Liberty would be great.

Another thing im looking forward to is the aircraft. especially the helicopters. although i can't see the jet pack from GTA:SA making a return, but who knows.

Have no PS3 yet so i'll wait for the 360 version to come out.

only 8 more months to wait...lol

Especially the helicopters? I'm afraid that's all you're gonna get. There will be no planes and no jet pack. It's already been confirmed.

Just about mastered the dodo but it took me for Vice City to do it after 3 weeks stuck on the mission where i had to distribute the porno flyers around the city. Since then it was a breeze but i hate it so much that i avoid it whenever i can!

    VR!

I had the same problem. I hated flying those planes. You know the way in GTA:SA where you had to do a lot of missions in the planes, I could never get past that. Thats why I have never played it since. I thin the plane missions are too hard to do. I hopr there won't be any in LC

Thought this was delayed until April 4th 2008?

Eh, call me crazy Naliz but it's not unreasonable to assume that it's released on the 16th of October 2007 from the thread title.

Was just confirming in my own mind that it wasn't just put back a few weeks, rather than a few months.

Sorry about that but as you said to me once you should read the previous posts. ;)

  • Registered Users Posts: 279 ✭✭nealmac

Indeed. This is an old thread.

I suppose the fact that this was planned to be released this year may have delayed GTA: SAS if it coming out.

Perhaps what we need to stave off the misery of the delayed GTAIV would be a sort of retrospective box set containing all the GTA titles so far, and with regard to the Xbox/PS2 games, a nice HD graphical update too, maybe some multiplayer fun as well. I could see such a thing selling rather well, no?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,688 ✭✭✭Nailz

Well... Most of us would have them anyway...

I disagree with you here, and I'll tell you why! When I first attempted the flight school mission where you have to circle the airstrip, I honestly thought I would never complete it. I just couldn't do it. Eventually I got it. If I were to try it again right now, I'd be willing to bet that I'd pass it first time.

You see, it isn't like other difficult missions. This one is about you as a player learning how to use a plane, and the more you practice, the easier it gets. Eventually you'll master it. Other missions are just really difficult and they don't get any easier no matter how much you practice.

yup i agree with u there. U just have to practice the flight school missions a bit. i quite enjoyed them really. was a bit annoying and frustating sometimes but on a whole i enjoyed them alot. I even liked the dodo missions in gta3. First few goes were dodge but when u get used to how it flys, its great fun. I think i might reinstall some of the old gta games for a bit of a lash.

also a bit off topic, does anyone know if they r ever going to release the gta: stories series on the pc or is it just strictly for the PSP?

It's apart of the fun and challenge. You don't wanna just be able to walk through it do ya?
