Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    0-0 from the 1st leg.

Has to be better than last week's snorefest with the onus on Pyunik to come and attack.

Derry have plenty of goals in them but can they perform in 40 degrees celcius.

Paddy McCourt might even cut his hair its so hot.:D

Derry City will train tonight in the match stadium for tomorrow night's Champions League qualifier second leg against FC Pyunik of Armenia.

Derry had a nightmare journey to Armenia travelling via Heathrow, Prague and Yerevan where they encountered visa difficulties on arrival.

After finally resolving the visa issues, the squad only got to their hotel at 7am local time today.

The Candystripes have no injury concerns but the temperature in Yerevan today touched 40 celsius, with a high level of humidity so preparations are far from ideal for John Robertson's men.

Shambolic arangements for the away leg from the EL's runners-up.

    Fail to prepare......

Must be lots of outside interest in this one.

€1,000,000 traded so far on betfair.

Reason for edit : one zero to many

And 98% of it is on Pyunik.

I wonder how much of it is REAL money as in not trading money.

Bleedin' Ger Canning doing the commentary ffs.

How many times will he say "sideline ball"? Is BetFair taking bets on that?

Derry a goal down after 29mins.

I think its beginning to dawn on Derry that this team they are playing is very ordinary.

I think its beginning to dawn on Derry that this team they are playing is very ordinary.

And that's putting it quite politely , Derry knew they'd have to score at least 1(unless it went to pens) so things haven't changed that much with Pyunik leading .

    Are you serious?

It's like Benny Hill in the Derry defence.

    Derry are ordinary.

    Oh no..

    here comes Greg

What other player has won two league titles in the last two years with two different clubs?

    Liam Kearney doesn't count.

The bitterness of Cork City fans towards Greg is a disgrace, he's a really nice guy.

    Marry him so:D

Barry Molloy is a much better player.

2-0 now , dire defending and another poor strike finds the net .

What odds were the Armenians? Free money considering the travel arangements and heat factor.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,684 ✭✭✭FatherTed

The Armenian league must be good.

They had something like 8 Armenian internationals in their first 11 and Armenia have just won 2 on the trot for the first time, also this is the weakest Derry team in years.

    What you talking about?

This is the team that has been runner up the last two seasons.

Only saw the first half and just going by that Id say Derry will be kicking themselves that they lost. Brennan & McCourt's side of the field was where all the problems occurred.

Im talking bout the Fenlon factor, also runner up twice isnt going to be champs league material.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,956 ✭✭✭✭Zebra3

The odds on Pyunik were generous believe me. ;) Bookies seem to have no idea about the heat over there, Derry being crap, their hopeless travel arrangements and the fact that Pyunik had 5 or 6 players who played on their NT that recently beat Poland in a Euro2008 qualifier.

Thought it was an even game.

Could have easily gone the other way.

Always value after the bet has come in!

Theres either value or there isnt, even if Derry had won backing the Armenians would have been correct. It would just have been unlucky.

It was a strange betting market.

    Home leg Derry were 4/7

Away pyunik were 11/10 but shortened into 4/5
