Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I want to set up an ftp account that I can give to people to be able to log in and upload files to share. I know how to set it to a specific directory, but I'm wondering is it possible to set it so that they can upload and download the files, but not delete them.

    Is this possible?

    My server runs DirectAdmin.
    Thanks

if they can upload to your FTP folder, I would imagine they can delete too.

I seriously doubt that DirectAdmin has an option for setting the sticky bit on your directory... but if you have shell access to your account you could try the command: chmod 1766 mydir

If the above doesn't work then you'll just have to make do as otherwise write permissions = delete permissions.

If you have shell you could cron moving the files to a read only area every once in a while. It's not foolproof but would help.
