I have recently applied for a trainee position with a Belfast stockbroker. It was stated that no previous experience is required but nevertheless I was wondering if anyone could recommend a website or book that gives a general introduction into the world of investments and explains some of the terminology. Although I am very interested in this position, it would be nice to be able to back up that interest with even just a little related knowledge.

Futures
Forwards
Bears
Bulls
Bonds
Equities
Selling Long
Selling Short
Hedge Funds
Mutual Funds

You should find loads of detail within those areas to keep you interested.
