Has anyone done this course? I've applied to do the computing stream this September.

Searching around I find very few relevant jobs in Ireland. There seem to be a limited number of academic jobs and thats it. I presume a lot of the commercial work in this sector is done abroad at the hq's of the big pharma companies?

Its also hard to get a feel for potential jobs when you cant see any job descriptions.

With such a lack of information on jobs in this country I am beginning to have second thoughts. No point in working hard for a year to be unemployed at the end of it.

    Thanks for any help

A lot of the masters graduates have gone on to do
further acadmic research by way of progressing to
PhD's in DCU, UCD, Trinity, UCC, NUIM,
EBI Hinxton, EMBL Heidleburgh and one in Spain.
Graduates have also gone on to work for Beaumont Hospital,
RCSI, Almac Diagnostics, Icon Clinical Plc, Microsoft, Murex,
Accensure, SlidePath and Quintiles to name a few.

There is a vibrant job market at the moment and the DCU M.Sc.
in Bioinformatics is highly regarded. Graduates from both Bio
and Computing backgrounds have said that the M.Sc. was
a significant contribution in securing interviews for their
    current jobs.

Most of the work found is in Ireland with a small number
choosing to go work in Europe,

    Best Regards,

    Ray Walshe
